SIA Names New Leadership Team

August 1, 2006 • The Scaffold Industry Association (SIA) named John R. Miller as president at its 34th annual convention in Baltimore, Md., on July 13. As the association's 18th president, Miller plans to expand training and education opportunities throughout North America over the next two years.

In addition to Miller, the new slate of SIA officers includes Bill Breault, Breault Industrial Group, president-elect; John Brasil, Etobicoke Ironworks, vice-president; Elizabeth Callahan, Powerclimber/Safeworks, treasurer; Steve Smith, Edge Scaffolding, secretary; Randy Moody, XServ, board appointee; Jeff Stachowiak, Sunbelt Rentals, board appointee; and Chuck Hutchinson, Bil-Jax, presidential appointee. Immediate Past-President Howard Schapira, Action Scaffold & Equipment Co., will remain for a two-year term.

"The SIA is currently positioned to take the scaffold and access industry to heights not seen before," Miller said. “The importance of the access professional within the construction process has been taken for granted for far too long and this leadership team intends to change that.”
