Pathway Polymers Expands Despite Economy

February 12, 2009 – At a press conference last week at World of Concrete, Pathway Polymers discussed its patented TyrFil Recycling Systems, as well as current and future plans for the company.

The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based chemical manufacturer said that it has not only expanded its sales force, but has also completed a brand new 6,000-square-foot TyrFil development, processor training, and machine demo area at its production facility in Chattanooga. The development, processor training, and machine demo area is fully equipped with TrioFil, AutoFil, Graco, Electric TyrFil, and LiteFil tire fill systems for use by Pathway’s development staff and customer processors.

Despite the slow economy, Pathway Polymers said it remains confident that its patented tire fill recycling technology is what the market needs and has made a commitment to bring this technology to market. John Danules, COO of Pathway Polymers said that the aftermarket tire dealers and customers are also looking for any way to increase sales, reduce costs, and improve performance. Since its introduction, commercial tire dealers using the AutoFil Recycler tire filling system have recycled over 100 million pounds of tire fill, keeping it out of landfills and saving approximately $100 million in new tire fill purchases at the same time.

Mike Dormady was appointed as vice president of sales and marketing Nov. 1, 2008, and charged with taking an already effective sales organization to the next level in customer service and support. He recently completed the major steps of reducing the cost of equipment to dealers, reworking all of our printed materials, expanding coverage of Pathway’s North American market by adding a fifth territory, and adding three new territory managers to service customer demand for a more cost- effective flat-proofing solution in the market.

The three new territory managers include Henderson, Nev.-based Kevin Carr, who covers the Western U.S.; Chicago, Ill.-based Ben Parish, who covers the Midwest; and San Antonio, Texas-based Pat McKinney who is responsible for the Southwest.

The company is also currently testing their TrioFil Recycler system at three additional OEM processing facilities located in North America and Europe. The TrioFil Recycler tire filling system allows OEMs to reduce flat-proofing material cost by up to 25 percent by substituting expensive virgin tire fill material with low cost rubber crumb recycled from scrap pneumatic rubber tires, the company said.
