February 24, 2009 –
San Cesario Sul Panaro, Italy-based manufacturer Oil&Steel has provided its Eagle S 4230 machine to the Dubai International Airport for powering its maintenance service platform fleet. The Eagle S 4230 was purchased through Al Laith Scaffolding, Oil&Steel’s dealer in the United Arab Emirates.

The Eagle S 4230 is equipped with a main and a secondary jib. The secondary jib is used for negative movements and allows the operator to complete vertical movements. The platform is designed particularly for work under trusses or in areas with many obstacles at high elevations. This model of Eagle S is able to perform almost 138 feet of maximum working height and more than 98 feet of maximum lateral outreach.

Eagle S 4230 is equipped with the new Live Work System, which facilitates various operative stages and increases safety for the operators. The Live Work System is a telecommunication system that operates in real time and allows the operator to communicate between the basket and the ground control station with a webcam and a fixed microphone. The system allows communication in real time, so that operators can speak to other crew from high elevations without having to descend.

The Eagle S 4230 offers the operator the possibility to visualize on a digital display during the stabilization stage, the perfect stability of the vehicle using a digital level, which prevents the operator from committing any errors. The operator can then decide how wide the stabilizer bar can be widened. If the space for stabilizing is reduced because of obstacles, the operator can decide to stabilize the vehicle remaining within the dimensions of the gauge without occupying more space than that occupied by the truck. In relation to the stabilization of the vehicle and the number of operators, the Eagle S automatically programs the work area and does not allow the operator to carry out movements outside of this area, which can involve risks for the stability of the vehicle. This makes the new Eagle S series useful in countries where due to urban characteristics, a vehicle cannot be completely stabilized.

Andrea Certo, CEO of Oil&Steel, said this important deal “underlines the positive feeling of the market over Eagle S series and the important success gained internationally.”
